OUR RESPONSE TO COVID - 19
A Message from Studio 860
We hope this message finds everyone healthy and well. We are looking forward to our reopening on Monday, June 22nd. We will be reopening in a phase 2 plan in accordance with the Connecticut state reopening plan.
COVID - 19 - Our Response and New Procedures
Social Distancing: We will be utilizing both our new outdoor dance space and indoor dance studio with garage doors open for easy flow of air. For phase 2, the lobby/waiting area will be closed and only open for staff. Our front desk area will be available for signing of digital waiver forms, contactless payments and questions. The drop box outside will be available for check and cash payments drop offs (payment receipts will be sent out through email). Upon entering or participating in class activities dancers will be required to sanitize hands ● Dancers should remain in their social distancing dance area during the duration of class ● Masks may be worn by students/ teachers who wish to ● Masks will be required for classes / team rehearsals where the proper 6 foot of social distance can not be maintained ● students will be required to have a temperature check before entering any indoor class(es) to ensure safety of both staff and students. ● Class activities like partnering, hand holding, across the floor and barre exercises will be temporarily suspended to ensure social distancing ● For phase 2, all classes will have a class limit of 10 students (first come, first serve - reserve your spot asap) ● Students and parents are required to wait/observe classes from the parking lot area. A staff member will be present outside to direct students into proper workshop/class space and student attendance. There will be chairs placed outside for you to sit and observe your child but you also have the option to bring your own chair or stay in your vehicle.
● Lastly if you, your dancer and anyone in your family is experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 PLEASE REMAIN AT HOME!!
Sanitation: All surfaces will be wiped down between and after classes.
*Each evening following classes the entire studio will be treated with UV sanitizers. This will help ensure cleansing of all surfaces and air within the studio.
All students should bring:
Mask, Water, Sanitizer, Towel
Dance Out Loud Showcase:
Our Dance out Loud Showcase will take place July 25 - 26th. As you can imagine, a regular showcase will be impossible during this situation. We have come up with an excellent alternative to keep our families safe but at the same time allow our dancers’ hard work to be seen. The Dance Out Loud Showcase will be an outdoor dance concert at our studio. We will split our showcase into several small performance slots throughout the day on July 25th and 26th. Each class or dance team will have its own performance hour throughout the weekend to limit the crowd. Audience members will have the opportunity to either watch from their vehicles, bring chairs and or check out the showcase via livestream on our BAND app. This year's showcase will be free of charge however donations are highly encouraged in order to continue programming in the fall.
We know how difficult it is to continue classes into the summer, but our goal is to give our staff and students an opportunity to dance and even showcase some amazing work before fall classes begin. We understand students and their families are looking forward to vacations and summer activities and because of that , we will not be utilizing our regular attendance rules. We do encourage the student to come to as MANY classes as they can.
We have been working hard at the studio to keep education coming to you. We will be resuming payments in June and July and honoring class make ups. If you have any questions or concerns, please come to the front desk to follow up on your account. Or email us email@example.com
Best wish of health and safety to all,
All new and returning students must register and sign new waiver forms at the front desk. *Returning tuition based students should UPDATE account information with front desk upon arrival.
